Local Culinary Insider Content & Recognition Usage Policy

Local Culinary Insider (“LCI”) is an independent culinary publication dedicated to discovering, recognizing, and sharing the stories of exceptional restaurants and the people behind them.

Restaurants featured by LCI are selected independently based on editorial merit. There is no fee to be selected or featured.

This policy explains how restaurants and other parties may share and use content published by Local Culinary Insider.

1. Ownership of LCI Content

Unless otherwise stated, original articles, editorial graphics, feature designs, recognition graphics, publication layouts, photography created by LCI, and other original materials published by Local Culinary Insider are owned or controlled by LCI and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Being the subject of an LCI article or recognition does not transfer ownership of LCI-created content to the featured restaurant, its owners, employees, or representatives.

Any photographs, logos, trademarks, quotations, or other materials supplied by a restaurant or another third party remain the property of their respective owners.

2. What Featured Restaurants Are Welcome to Do

LCI encourages restaurants to celebrate and share their recognition.

Featured restaurants are welcome to:

Share a direct link to their LCI feature on their website.
Share the article link through social media.
Share the article link through email or newsletters.
Use social-media sharing functions provided on LCI’s website or social platforms.
Share or repost an original LCI social-media post using the platform’s built-in sharing or reposting tools.
Truthfully state that the restaurant has been featured or recognized by Local Culinary Insider.
Direct customers, followers, media organizations, and other audiences to the original article published on LCI.

Whenever possible, references to an LCI feature should link directly to the original article on Local Culinary Insider.

3. What Is Not Automatically Permitted

Publication of a restaurant feature does not automatically grant permission to reproduce or commercially use LCI-created content.

Without prior written authorization from Local Culinary Insider, restaurants and third parties may not:

Copy and republish the complete LCI article on another website.
Reproduce substantial portions of an LCI article in place of linking to the original.
Download and republish LCI-created editorial graphics as independent promotional materials.
Copy, reproduce, or distribute LCI-designed article layouts or publication designs.
Print or distribute reproductions of LCI articles or editorial graphics for promotional purposes.
Use LCI-created recognition badges, seals, certificates, award graphics, or similar branded assets unless specifically authorized by LCI.
Alter LCI-created graphics, recognition marks, badges, or editorial materials.
Remove or obscure LCI copyright notices, attribution, watermarks, or branding.
Use LCI-created content in advertisements, menus, signage, merchandise, packaging, or other commercial promotional materials without authorization.
Suggest or imply an endorsement, award, designation, partnership, or relationship with LCI beyond the recognition actually provided.

4. Linking vs. Republishing

LCI distinguishes between sharing an article and republishing an article.

Sharing a link that directs readers to the original article on Local Culinary Insider is welcomed and encouraged.

Copying the article, reproducing its design, downloading LCI-created graphics for independent use, or otherwise republishing LCI-created material is not automatically permitted.

In simple terms:

Linking and sharing are encouraged. Reproduction and republication require permission, except where otherwise permitted by law.

5. Restaurant-Owned Materials

LCI may incorporate materials supplied or authorized by a featured restaurant, including photographs, logos, menus, quotations, and other information.

LCI does not claim ownership of materials owned by the restaurant or other third parties.

A restaurant’s rights in its own photographs, logos, trademarks, or other materials are not affected simply because those materials appear within an LCI feature.

6. Accuracy and Corrections

LCI strives to publish accurate and responsible editorial content.

Featured restaurants are welcome to contact LCI regarding factual inaccuracies, updated information, ownership changes, or other appropriate corrections.

LCI retains editorial control over its articles, headlines, presentation, revisions, and other editorial decisions.

7. LCI Name, Logo and Recognition Marks

The Local Culinary Insider name, logo, badges, seals, recognition marks, and related brand elements may not be copied or used in a way that inaccurately suggests endorsement, affiliation, sponsorship, partnership, or recognition beyond what LCI has actually provided.

References such as “Featured by Local Culinary Insider” or “Featured in Local Culinary Insider” may be used when they accurately describe a published LCI feature.

8. Requests to Use LCI Content

Anyone wishing to reproduce, republish, print, distribute, display, or otherwise use LCI-created content beyond the permissions described above may contact Local Culinary Insider to request written authorization.

Except for the sharing and linking permissions described above and uses otherwise permitted by applicable law, Local Culinary Insider reserves all rights in its original editorial and creative content.

Nothing in this policy should be interpreted as restricting rights that may otherwise exist under applicable law.
